Registered Veterinary Nurse and Practice Director
Lauren qualified as a registered veterinary nurse in 2010 working at a sister practice as head nurse before becoming practice director. She joined the Birch Heath team in February 2020 as Practice Director.

She obtained her exotic nursing certificate in 2014 and has been heavily involved with the training and development of nursing clinics and student nurse training in her previous roles. She has just completed her Advanced Diploma in Veterinary Nursing and is currently studying towards her top-up BSC (honours) degree in Veterinary Nursing as well as her level 3 leadership and management qualification.

Lauren is kept busy outside of work with 2 spaniels; 4 cats; 2 rabbits; various tropical fish and her horse, as well as a photography business which she owns with her husband.

Amber Summers RVN
Head Veterinary Nurse
Amber qualified as an RVN in 2017. She previously worked in South Wales in a busy small animal practice with a lot of emergency and out of hours work.

Amber has a keen interest in surgical nursing and medicine. She is really enjoying learning about all the exotics we see at Birch Heath.

Amber has three cats called Alfie, Moose and The Payrot, named because she sits like a parrot.

Registered Veterinary Nurse
Kirstie has worked in practice for over 10 years and qualified as a registered veterinary nurse in 2007. She has worked at Birch Heath since 2003.

She has an interest in all aspects of exotic nursing, particularly raptors. Kirstie has also completed her exotic nursing qualification to further her skills. She has a degree in zoology and gained a qualification in zoo animal management whilst working at a zoo for two years.

Kirstie is the owner of Spike the dog, and two cats.
Suzanne Reeve
Suzanne Reeve RVN Cert VNES
Registered Veterinary Nurse
Suzanne qualified in 2008 at Myerscough College, along with continuing her studying and completing her Exotic Nursing qualification. Suzanne joined us here at Birch Heath Vets in November 2020 after working in a variety of practices, with a keen interest in Exotic and Feline patients.

In her spare time she is busy with her two cats Freddie and Vale, along with her Tortoise Mr T.
