Join the CVS New Graduate Programme

Investing in our future means that we are always seeking ambitious graduate veterinary surgeons keen to join our New Graduate Programme, an industry-leading scheme which is well respected by universities providing veterinary degrees.

The programme is a two-year supportive, comprehensive, practical and theory-based programme providing new graduate vets essential CPD required for their first job working in practice. It provides mentoring at practice level with a national support network, including the opportunity to meet up with other new graduates on a regular basis, and an introduction to life as a vet from both a clinical and business perspective.

Across the CVS group, we are proud to employ many overseas qualified professionals and, in many cases, are also able to offer visa sponsorship. To learn more about opportunities and relocation support, including visa sponsorship, please contact our Careers Team via recruitment@cvsvets.com.

How to become a veterinary surgeon

No veterinary practice can exist without the expertise of Veterinary Surgeons who, under the provisions of the Veterinary Surgeons Act of 1966 and with certain minor exceptions, are the only professionals permitted to diagnose and treat the injuries and ailments of animals.

The universities in the UK currently offering veterinary degrees approved by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) are Bristol, Cambridge, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Liverpool, London (the Royal Veterinary College) and Nottingham. A new veterinary school has also opened up recently at Surrey University.
